Mail-In Registration: Mail registration form at least one week in advance of the start date of the class.

• For all classes sponsored by Wake Technical Community College, call (919) 866-5800 to register.
• For all other courses, make check payable to the Agency listed in the catalog course description and mail with registration form to:

Walk-In Registration: Arrive at the class location at least 15 minutes prior to the class start time. Then see the site coordinator for that location for directives for registering for your desired course.

When you arrive at the school where your class is being held, there will be a list posted near the entrance showing the room number for your class. There will also be an employee, called a Site Coordinator, there to give you directions to find your classroom.

Wake Technical Community College
In order to be admitted into courses sponsored by Wake Technical Community College, registrants must be 18 years or older. Persons ages 16-17 will be admitted to class on the starting date only if space permits. Senior citizens age 65 and older who attend these classes are eligible to receive a discount. Other Agencies
You may register by mail or walk-in. The age range for students is 16+. There are no discounts available for any particular group, unless noted in the course description.

Lifelong Learning classes are held at selected high school and middle school locations. Specific sites can be located using the Community Schools map. The complete list of Community School locations, and the days they offer classes, is below:

An Agency is the business or person offering the course. Checks are to be made payable to the individual agencies, but are to be mailed to Lifelong Learning.

The name of our catalog is Expand. Expand is available at all Wake County Public Libraries, or it can be downloaded from the Lifelong Learning section of the Community Schools website (cs.wcpss.net).

Contact information for Community Schools Site Coordinators is available here. For fastest service, send them an e-mail. They are only available at the phone number listed during class hours of 6:30 to 9:30 p.m.

School System personnel closely monitor the weather forecasts and conditions. Any announcement of evening classes being cancelled will be made through the main Wake County Public School System website at www.wcpss.net. The local media will also be notified.

Please remember that if no announcement is made, evening classes will be held on their normal schedule.

At the bottom of each course description in the Expand catalog is a listing for "Agency." This listing indicates the participating agency or instructor. When registering for a class, tuition checks should be made payable to the person or institution listed.

Contact the individual instructor or agency that is listed in the course description for their specific refund policy. In general, a class will be canceled if the number of participants does not meet the minimum number required by the instructor or agency. In such cases, checks will be returned to participants.

Refunds are issued by the Agency or Instructor, not the Lifelong Learning Program.

There is no predetermined time for courses. Courses range from one night in length to three months in length. Information about the schedule for your desired course can be found under the course description in the catalog.

The evening program runs from 6:30 to 9:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday. However, some sites are open four nights a week while others are only open two nights a week. See the "About Lifelong Learning" link for information about site schedules.

You should arrive for class at least five minutes prior to the scheduled start time.

Yes, Lifelong Learning offers courses in the summer at five of our community schools locations.

If you have a great course idea, we would be happy to discuss it with you.

As the instructor, you determine the topic. You pick the hours and dates for your class within our program time. We'll assist you in determining the best location for your class. Upon approval, your course will be listed in our Expand catalog that is distributed throughout Wake County. You do not need a teaching degree to offer a course in our program.

A CIP is an application to teach through Lifelong Learning. Those interested in teaching must submit a CIP along with one resume and a course description for each course they desire to teach.
